To honor Queen Bey’s 36th birthday on Sept. 4, Beyoncé’s famous family and friends — including former First Lady Michelle Obama — decided to literally get in formation, and recreate the musicians’s fierce iconic look.
The message on the website read: “Happy Birthday Beyoncé – From you family and friends.”
In addition to Obama, 17 others posed for the black-and-white photos donning the famous off-the-shoulder black top, wide-brimmed black hat, heavy silver statement necklaces, and two long braids seen in Beyoncé’s “Formation” video from Lemonade.
Daughter Blue Ivy, Serena Williams (who gave birth Friday), and former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were among the famous faces who also posed for the creative birthday wish curation.
Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles Lawson and her mother-in-law, Gloria Carter, joined in on the celebratory photoshoot.
Along with the birthday message on the website, there’s a link to support Houston’s relief efforts after Tropical Storm Harvey claimed around 50 lives and caused years worth of devastation in the singer’s hometown.
Beyoncé started BeyGOOD Houston and partnered with Bread of Life, Greater Houston Community Foundation, and Texas Southern University to raise funds to help with the relief efforts.
